It thrives in the limestone-heavy/nutrient-poor soils we often find here in the hill country and once established this beauty can handle our turbulent weather with ease. The hanging pink clusters of flowers found in spring resemble wisteria, but Eve’s Necklace is actually closely related to Mountain Laurel, another native found here. As the flowers start to wrap up for the season it produces distinct seed pods that look like shiny black beads lined up on a string, inspiring the name. This tree is a fantastic choice for gardeners looking for a big visual impact without much effort.
